Americans Can Stop Malaria In Africa
Malaria is a very dangerous disease that can and will kill. This disease is casued by protozoan parasites (ex: mosquitos) which carry the disease over to the human body. They are parasites which means that they "partner up" with you and they get the benefit as the human gets harmed. Malaria is usally found in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. These areas can include South America, Asia, and mostly Africa. Each year 1-2 million people die from this disease. Malaria sounds so dangerous, but the truth is that it is very easy to prevent it from happening.

I just recently read in the NY Times that only $10 can buy a simple net to prevent a family in africa from getting Malaria. That's right. 10 DOLLARS AND ONE MOSQUITO NET CAN STOP THIS DISEASE!! Recently, many organizations have taken action to this simple procedure. The Methodist Church, Lutheran Chruch, NBA, American Idol, VH1, etc. Big organizations like this are preventing millions upon millions of deaths every year. Just by simply collecting and raising $10 per net. As a country, if we can keep this up, Malaria might soon be gone as these mosquitos will have nothing to pass on the disease too. $10, THATS IT!

Every 30 seconds, somebody dies from Malaria.
Every 30 seconds, millions of dollars get wasted.
Spend 10 Dollars, and save millions and millions of lives.
It's THAT Simple.

Global Warming: A major concern

A previous graduate from my school, Jayni Chase, who was trained by Al Gore just informed us once again on global warming. She stated many times the dangers and seriousness of this major worldwide issue. Evidence helped prove to us that the earth is really warming up.

Evidence Includes:

1. Earths Average Termperature Is Rising
2. Ice Caps in Arctics Are Melting
3. The Change In Paths Of Weather In The World
4. The South American Countries Getting Hit By Hurricanes
5. The Amount Of Deaths Per Year Due To Heatwaves

The cause to all of this is the greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere and not being able to get out due to our atmosphere. Also adding to the problem is pollution which is staying in our air also because of our atmostphere.

To prevent the issue of global warming, we can try to make our lives around us greener. Little things such as using less energy and recycling can help. This is all you need to do to stop global warming and save our mother earth.

Rin wrote a cell phone novel telling us how our lives depend on the phones. The book was great was a top 10 seller in the year of 2007. She shows how much we depend on them as our lives would be different without them. In all of our free time...half of it goes to use on our cell phones. Weather it is a simple call to your friend or even a serious call to someone important. Even with all its features that we still you can stay hooked on the phone. Overall our lives would be well different with out the advancment of technology and cell phones.

The Battle of the Webpages

It's true that currently right now, the big buisness makers on the internet are websites like Google, Yahoo, and Facebook. But the question is...what about the future? Everything indeed does change over time but from the shift to a big major company to the danger of losing it all, is MAJOR! Right now it stands that yahoo is currently losing many viewers to facebook and google. As yahoo's new C.E.O spoke the other day, the first he did was appologize. He appologized about the fact that yahoo isnt going up to everyones need and expectations. Even though these companys dont seem similar they really are. Think about it, three companies on the internet that are each very popular. Can be used to contact people, and look up things. Well if there are three of them, its not going to be an equal distrubution of 33% of the worlds populations using only one of them. People are going to use the one they like best. These websites have to keep up to the world and also to peoples expectations just to survive. It will really be interesting to see 40 years from now if people still even know what yahoo, google, or facebook really are.

This girl posted a website about how she can really make a difference for the whole moth of December. Each day, she will go out of her way to help either her own family or other people.
By posting up a website and being responsible to update it everyday, it can give ordinary people little ideas to help one another.

Here is the link: http://twentyfivedays.wordpress.com/

This girl did things to help out like cleaning out the fish bowl, helping to cook dinner, and just other little things.

I thought that this girl did a very nice and helpful thing and it will inspire me aswell as others to do the same.

The Evan Trembly Story

"My 15 year old boy, Evan Trembley, is missing. He has been missing for now two weeks.
Maybe if everyone passes this on, someone will see this child. That is how the girl from Stevens Point was found by circulation of her picture on tv. The internet circulates even overseas, South America , and Canada etc. Please pass this to everyone in your address book. With G-D on his side he will be found.
'I am asking you all, begging you to please forward this email on to anyone and everyone you know, PLEASE.
It is still not too late. Please help us. If anyone knows anything, please contact me at: HelpfindEvanTrembley@yahoocom
I am including a picture of him.
All prayers are appreciated! ! '
It only takes 2 seconds to forward this.
If it was your child, you would want all the help you could get!!"

This e-mail has been circulating around since August. It has in fact spread across the majority of the world. I recieved this, this morning, and my first reaction was how sad I felt for the boy and his parents. When reading it though I noticed quite a few typing errors. His email was "HelpfindEvanTrembley@yahoocom". "Yahoocom" is an unvalid e-mail account because its not yahoo.com. Realizing this I decided to do ferther research into this, and I found out that is whole e-mail was a fake. The real story is that he sent it as a joke to a couple of friends. Those friends sent it on to other people, and so on. And before you knew it GLOBALIZATION had made it sperad throughout the whole world.
